Remember to read Pt. 8 of Agent Beck. This story continues off of that one. Enjoy!
Mission 9: Thunder The God
Here we are face to face, with a man who could be our downfall. I looked at Agent Falcon and told myself, ‘we will win’. I won’t allow her to get hurt tonight. Thunder looks between the both of us and forms a wicked smile. He slowly raises his arm and simply snaps his finger and a huge gush of wind hits us. Falcon blocks it with her wings while I go flying into the tables. I can’t believe from one snap, he could call on so much power. He turns to Falcon and before he could move, she launches her steel feathers at him. They go into him and he drips blood. I found it strange he didn’t dodge it. I watched him take a deep breath and sensed exactly what was about to happen. I dash over and push Falcon on the floor.
I reached her right on time before her feathers came launching back at high speed. They go through the wall and then it catches fire. For such a skinny male his power was no joke.
“Thanks.” she said.
“Anytime…you have any idea how to stop this monster?” I questioned while shooting my pistols. Thunder forms a barrier to stop the bullets. I smirk at his move as my bullets impact the floor. A bright beam consumes his view and I take a table and swing it at him. He slams into the kitchen area.
“No clue. You remember how BEAST stopped him?” she countered. I remember back to our boss' story. He told me it wasn’t easy and that’s how he lost his hearing in one ear, but he was able to weaken him by becoming what he was…a monster.
“He went to a wild state, where his pure animal side took over. So, basically he got on his level.” I explained. We watch Thunder dust himself off. Then he feels his lower lip. It was bleeding and that made him smile.
“Nice move boy, but no one messes with my face.” Thunder states with annoyance. He quickly claps his hand multiple times. Waves of air were coming towards us. I grab a tall table and as we duck, the table is sliced in half. The top half was missing and we both looked at each other.
“Move!” we both yelled. Thunder’s waves had such thickness, it was sharp enough to cut you in two. I dodge his waves and when I look over him, I see a hanging chandelier. I unveil my monstrous roar and the ceiling above him cracks. Thunder looks up in time to quickly move and that was his mistake. Right on the left was Falcon with her sword. She slices his stomach and he falls to his knees. It was so close to being over, if she could have aimed for his heart. I aim my hydro-electric gun at him. My plan was to aim for his open wound before it healed to make his stomach explode. That would knock him unconscious and give us enough time to remove the artifact.
Before I could shoot him, he’s back on his feet. It wasn’t even a full minute and he was healed. He looks at Falcon and his fist turns to light. He threw punches at her and she was able to maneuver around them but a table caught her foot. I dash over to stop his punch and he turns it towards me and I caught up blood. Falcon grabs his neck from behind and flips him over her shoulder. She runs over to me and I quickly shake off his attack. My eyes begin to glow with rage. I could still feel his burn mark left from his punch. I wink at Falcon and she nods.
“Thunder God or not…let’s see you stand this! Screech!” she cries in his direction and I watch him try his best to withstand the sound. He eventually gave up and his ears began to bleed. I see rage forming on his face from the sound. With my feline eyes I am able to see his body temperature. His temperature was rising by the second. The room begins to feel hot and when I look at the blood on the floor, it is bubbling. The corpses were starting to melt, and worse of all, he wasn’t moving which meant he was focusing. I can tell this move was going to be on the same level from when he destroyed his hometown. I needed to think fast. I glance behind him to the kitchen area. I saw an open walk-in freezer and knew what to do. Thunder's body needed to cool down before this place caught fire.
“Alright time to unleash the beast. I take a breath and focus. I feel my feet turn to lion's paws and my muscles swell in my shirt. I growl at Thunder and launch at him. Falcon feels me pass her and stops screaming. Before Thunder could catch on, I speared him with all my might and rammed him into the freezer. He slams into some hanging meat and I can see his body temperature going down. I see a nearby wire panel and slash it open. Sparks fly and I increase my own body heat to form fire in my palms. I grab the wires and smirk at him.
His eyes go wide as I run out the freezer and close the door. I can hear Thunder try to move in time but the freezer explodes. The harsh backfire pushes Falcon and I out of the restaurant. We tumble into the street.
“What the hell, Savior!? Running into him like that while I was screaming!” she yelled. “Also when can you form fire?” she added.
“Sorry Francie, but his body temperature was rising and you didn’t see the blood and bodies melting. If I didn’t spear him into that freezer, we would see an attack that may have taken out the whole block.” I explained. Her eyes go wide and she begins to understand my interference. Before I could answer the other question, I sensed a massive heat wave coming our way. I was too slow to react and I saw Francie jump in front of me. Her wings form a barrier but it wasn’t enough to keep the attack at bay. Her wings catch fire and she screams in pain.
“Falcon, take your wings down now!” I commanded. She wasn’t listening as I saw her feathers burn away. I saw her bones and blood began to drip down her back. Why was she not listening to me? Then it hit me, I turned around to see an apartment complex. She was protecting the building and me, from the effects of his heat wave. She knew this building would catch on fire and spread. The attack subsides in time for me to catch Falcon in my arms. I find my phone and contact BEAST.
“Send an emergency vehicle to this location now! Agent Falcon is down and has lost her wings!” I yelled. BEAST didn’t even need to know how serious this was and quickly confirmed our location.
“Who is responsible for this?!” BEAST asked.
“Thunder…We somehow ended up in the same place and he is too powerful to stop alone. He likes…”
“A God.” BEAST finished my sentence and took a breath. “Keep him busy, I’m coming down there!” he growled. Before I could protest, the call ended. I looked up at the entrance and saw a figure standing in the flames. It was Thunder and this time his hair was burned away. He feels his head and the ground begin to shake. He was pissed and I quickly laid Falcon to the side. I wanted to stay by her side, but the innocent came first. This Thunder God was getting on my nerves. I used my sight to see how deep the artifact was in his heart. It was right in the middle. So I would need to pull out his whole heart. If I focus all my strength I could pierce his skin and remove it fast but his body is hot as fire. It was the only option I had, to save this block.
“You're a dead kid!!!” he screamed. I could see him clap his hands with force and the whole path of lightning came towards me through the ground. If I moved, this building, and Falcon would get caught in the attack. I force my inner rage and can feel my body grow hotter. I never answered Francie's question about my flames. The truth is my lion DNA is more ancient and powerful than any other lion. I slam my fist on the ground and a huge fire wall blocks his attack. The people were safe and I saw two cars next to me. I throw one at Thunder and he slices it in two. I throw another and this time I run straight behind it. He didn’t expect that as I leaped over him and leg swept him. He goes down and I pin him down.
“You can’t hold me for long or your hands will burn.” he laughed. He was right, my hands and feet were burning. “But, if you let me go, I will do my ultimate attack and send you and the people on this block to HELL. So, what’s it going to be pretty boy? I mean that girl sacrificed her life to save a building, so lame and stupid, are you going to do the same and act like you are so strong like that weak bird.” Thunder continued.
“SHUT UP you fucking bastard. Francie was one thing but weak, she was able to take your attack in full without her whole body burning. If you think she was weak, then you are going to see what power the Crimson Shield is made of…because if you thought BEAST was the strongest then you should fear me because…” My eyes begin to glow brighter and I feel my body begin to glow. My body grows fur and my hands and feet turn to paws. My hair grows wild and I strengthen my hold on him.
“...my rank is second from BEAST!” I stated. Thunder's eyes go wide with fear and he struggles to break free. “Oh, I smell fear.” I growled. I lift him with one hand and throw him into the ground. He tries to summon lightning and when I see it coming. I hold his hand and crush it. His dismembered hand bleeds and he grips it in pain. My fist turns to fire and I punch him in the face. He flies into the forest range and I dash after him. Thunder gets up with a wobble and I see a clear view of his chest. I aim for it and he catches my arm.
“Not so fast boy…” I stop him from talking by biting his arm off. I don’t usually use my secret form but I needed to stop him. Even if I don't have complete control of my transformation. “You bitch!!!” he screamed in pain. I felt the ground begin to shake and I knew his final attack was coming. He begins to glow and lift off the ground. I look at him and see a nearby cable line. I kick the telephone pole down and take the cords in my paws. I jumped up to him and stabbed the cords in his neck.
“You fool, that will give me more power.” Thunder stated. He laughs at me, but I will be the one laughing soon. He didn’t know, when he is gaining power his body freezes for five minutes to consume the energy. He realizes he can’t move and I crawl to his front.
“This is for Agent Falcon!” I pierce his chest and pull his heart from it. He falls to the ground and coughs up blood. I smile at him and then the smell of blood consumes me. Blood was my only weakness to keeping control. My animal instincts begin to take over and I claw into his body. I enjoyed this thrill of tearing my prey limb from limb. I take an organ and bite into it.
“Mommy what is that?!” I hear a child scream. I looked over at them and I couldn’t control my urges. I throw his heart aside and dash at them. So, close to a savory meal. I leap.
Plunk. Something heavy hits my head and when I look over BEAST has a pipe in his hand. His eyes glowing a dark red. Even though it was just a hit, my whole body vibrated with fear.
Back at C.S Headquarters
I opened my eyes and saw I was chained down to a hospital bed. I see Francie right next to me and she is watching TV. Her back was covered in bandages, and she had a wrap on her head.
“Welcome back, Lion King.” she smiled. I smile at her as flashes of last night reappear in my mind.
“Damn, that blood.” I sighed. I feel a slight hand press.
“Look, you will need to explain what happened but for right now, rest. The artifact is safe, thanks to you and best part, BEAST said your human form is slowly coming back but it could take another day for your blood to calm down.” she explained.
I nodded at her, but I couldn't help but know what she thought of me. To see me this way. She may have wings, but she can’t transform into a monster like me. BEAST told me to keep it a secret, but I trust Francie and she deserves to know just how close me and BEAST really are.
“…Francie, I need to tell you something.”
