Mission 19: My Inner BEAST
“James!!” I yelled. I stop at the scene of seeing Dr. Reynolds rip my brother's right arm off. BEAST was using all his energy to stay in animal mode. He was covered in fur and his face was pure animal. He looked like a black lion.
I watch his arm fly into the wall on my left. My brother screams in pain as Reynolds hits him against the same wall as his arm. I was about to run over to him, but Reynolds held up his hand.
“I wouldn’t do that. If you move one step closer, I will throw this blade at high speed into his heart. I know you need to give him your blood. I remember my research from the lab and what DNA I injected you two with. James has the ancient male alpha lion and you have the ancient beta female lion.” he explained. He was correct on that fact. James had the ancient black fur lion in his veins and I had the yellow fur lion in mines. Both DNA’s from the ancient time period of the Ice Age. James was more dominant and a leader. While I was more to the shadows.
“Good to know you aren't losing your memory…but you should be the one who is scared right now. Catch!” I use my speed and toss a piece of garlic at him. He was so surprised, he had no choice but to catch it.
“You idiot, do you really think garlic can harm…” Boom! The garlic explodes and his whole stomach has a hole in it. His insides spill out and he falls back. That gave me enough time to run over to my brother. I grab his arm and shove it back into its socket. I bite my wrist with force and my blood begins to drip on his wound. His arm was healed but the rest of his body was badly damaged. His face was covered in scratches and his fur was covered in burns. James begins to deform and is back to normal.
“You make transformations look easy, brother.” I teased. He rolls his eyes while breathing hard.
“Funny…did the data back up to headquarters?” he asked. The data he was talking about was Dr. Reynolds research data. Before this mission even started, we were geared up with spyware suits. Each of our clothing has the ability to hack data and transfer it to our research department. All while I was in his office fighting his zombies, I was also hacking his computers. The same goes for Falcon and Rhino.
“Yeah, it’s done…but now it’s my turn to play with Dr. Reynolds. Plus we got thirty minutes before the bomb…” I stop talking as Reynolds corpse floats in the air. I watch at high speed as his whole body comes back together. He is healed and I immediately press a button on my coat. It was an emergency button that allowed our suits to float and pull us away from danger and back to our jet. “No, arguing James…I got this.
“Wait…Savior!” he yelled. His suit pulls him away and back towards our jet.
“So, there is a bomb in here? Interesting…is that your final attempt at killing me?” he questioned while snickering. “Do you really think a bomb can destroy me or this entire lab? What power could your bombs have in order to destroy everything? “ he laughed. I smirked as an answer while I focused on my energy. I was gathering all my strength to summon my inner beast.
“Do you remember Pearl Harbor?” I asked. He stops laughing as his face turns to fear. He sprouted his wings and was about to take off. My hands turn to fire and I slam them against the wall. A huge fire wall forms, locking us inside. “Oh, no you don’t! Tonight the misery ends…even if I have to go with you.” I stop him and he looks at me with rage. He flies back to me at high speed and he cuts my arm. He was very fast and I could hardly smell him. Different cuts land on my body.
“Bring down the wall or I will kill you where you stand. I know you do not possibly want to die as well.” he hissed. Little did he know, he was right. I did not want to die, but I needed the lab to go down in flames even if it meant...
“No one else deserves to be hurt because of you.” I replied. His eyes glow a dark red and his fingernails turn to claws. He extends them and flies towards me. No matter how fast he was moving, rage was a hard smell to mask. I focus my energy and punch him in the face. He slams into a glass window. When he falls to the floor the glass shatters. His nose was broken and his lips were bleeding. He struggles to get up and then within seconds he is healed. He cracks his neck and smiles.
“That was a good punch…still your brother's punch snapped my whole head off. Why are you holding back? Afraid you can’t control the BEAST?” he smirked. I twitched my eyes because he was right. I was scared of my inner powers. I have never turned into a full beast, except for that one night with the Thunder god. When I almost killed an innocent family, because I couldn’t control my instincts. Since then I have been too scared to practice alone. I freeze in thought for too long and Reynolds lands a blow to my stomach. I feel my whole rib cage break. I stumble back and cough up blood.
“Seems like I hit a nerve, monster.” he whispered. I tried to stand tall but it was getting hard to breathe. I needed more time to heal. “I guess I will have to kill you, so I can get out of here.” he commented. He readied his claws when I tried to move, I was too slow. He scratches my face. I fall to the floor with all the broken glass pieces. He picks up one and slowly walks towards me. I launch a fireball and he simply flicks it to the side. I focus hard on my energy and try to summon all the strength I could. I needed to not be afraid. I need to accept who I am, I am not…
“YOU ARE NOT A MONSTER! You are the nicest person who I have ever met and we all look up to you at the company. You treat us like family and you always give us a warm smile every time someone makes it back from a mission. You check on every department and everyone loves your attitude. Your brother may lead the company but you are its heart... If you die, I will never forgive you!” Falcon yelled through my coat. My radio must have turned when Reynolds punched me. Reynolds paused for a moment. He rubs his ears in pain. I smile at her words and my body begins to fill with heat. A pure fire of heat that no one could put out.
“That was annoying…now, for you. It’s too bad I have to kill you, but I could always track down your brother and use his live DNA for more experiments.” he stated. My heart begins to race with anger. The thought of him touching my brother, makes my energy lose control. I feel my body healing faster. I slowly stand while cracking my neck. A strong light burns through my body and when I look at my reflection through a broken shard of glass, I see my eyes are glowing yellow. Reynolds looks at me with amazement. I wanted to wipe that look off his face. I walk faster than the speed of light and grab his neck. He struggles to break free.
“No one is going to hurt my brother.” I stare at him with a cold expression. He looks at me with fear as my body begins to shift. “I accept who I am and I am not a monster…” My skin grows yellow fur and my face begins to morph. I feel my height increasing as I hold his neck in my mouth. “...YOU ARE!” I swing him across the room and into a wall. A massive hole forms on impact. He struggles to get up.
“You got fifteen minutes ... .remember what I said Beck!” Falcon yelled. Her voice made me laugh as I ran towards Reynolds. He tries to move but I catch him going to the right and I stop him with a punch. His whole left side is blown off.
“Ah!” he screamed while backing away. His mouth turns into a circle and he screams. His high frequency damages my ears. I hold my ears and he claws my back. I stumble forward. I shake off his attack and when he tries to run at me I slam my fist to the ground. The floor cracks beneath him and that makes him stumble. He flies up and leaves his body open. I jump towards him at high speed and claw his neck. His head falls into his arms and he begins to cough up blood.
“What power…but I have one more trick up my sleeves.” he mentioned. I growl at him as a bright light consumes him. “You are not the only one, who has an animalistic side.” The light fades and he is in full bat mode. He flies towards me and I dodge every strike. I grab his wing and slam him into the floor. I jump back and he stands with a struggle. He was growing tired. This was my only chance to aim for his heart. He looks at me while breathing hard. He runs towards me and I take a breath. Everything slows in my mind. I can see him in clear view running towards me. I focus my energy and summon fire to my hand. He extends his claws and throws out his left hand. He leaves his body open and I grab his arm and rip it off. Then I stab my hand in his chest. I feel his heart and grab hold of it.
Everything speeds up and I have Reynold's heart trapped in my hand. He struggles to break free and I squeeze it.
“Let go of me. You can’t kill me…I have a huge water tower filled with contaminated water set to explode in three days. It holds my DNA formula and if it gets into the water supply, a whole town's death will be on your hands. I can stop it if you let me go, the information is saved on my computer.” he explained with fear. I smirk at him while squeezing his heart.
“Good thing we stole all your data.” I replied. His face turns to horror as I destroy his heart. “Enjoy Hell you monster.” I whispered as his body caught on fire. He yells in pain as his body turns to ash. I wish I had time to celebrate but Falcon yells in my ear.
“TEN SECONDS!” I had no time to get out. I brace myself for impact and as the lab begins to explode. Flames consume the walls while the lab begins to shake. The roof falls and I stand back. I look up and see dirt. This was the final floor to the lab, which meant the dirt was above us. The noise grows louder and flames come near me.
“Who would have thought I would be killed by…fire That’s it.” I thought. I focus my powers and touch the flames. I pull the fire into me and I bring that energy back out to form a bubble. I hear the final explosion and brace for impact. The energy wave hits my bubble and I am sent smashing through the dirt and to the surface. I reach the top and break my bubble. I float in the air and watch the whole abandoned school catch fire and crumble. I land in a nearby tree and calm my breathing. I feel my body shrink and my fur fall off. I felt my face and it felt back to normal. I breathe a sigh of relief.
“Good job Savior.” I look down and see James. He smirks at me as I jump down. His body was healed and I couldn’t help but hug him. He was okay and our past enemy was gone for good. He pats my back and I release him.
“Thanks James, but it’s not over yet.” I explain to him the problem and he immediately calls the government.
