Agent Beck Pt. 8

Intro: Welcome to Hiddenville City, a place where evil thrives all times of day. Here my organization puts a stop to them one villain at a time. We are the Crimson Shield. A special humans unit where we stop all the underground villains. We fight in secret to help the world, that is our mission.

Mission 8: Date Night

I can’t believe this is happening right now! Me, Beck is going on a date…a normal date. Falcon called me last night and asked if I had any plans tomorrow and out of luck I was free. So, she asked me on a date to a restaurant called Chow Wow. It’s supposed to be a fancy Chinese restaurant with a French cuisine twist. She told me how it has been raving on social media and wanted to check it out. I could never say no to finally being able to see her. Since our kiss on New Years, we were still piled high with missions so we barely saw each other or talked on the phone.

“What the hell do I wear?” I searched through my closet for what almost seemed like an hour. I finally decided on a tan button-down shirt with a black vest and slacks. I find my black converse and begin to pull my hair back into a ponytail. It was time for a haircut again. That was the one downside about having lion DNA, it makes your hair grow non-stop. I checked my watch and it was time to head out. Falcon said she would meet me there after finishing a low-rate mission. I look at my guns before leaving out and decide to bring them along just in case.

I arrived at the restaurant and since it was a weeknight, it wasn’t too full. As I wait for Falcon, I see a message from BEAST on my phone.

“Be on the lookout for a high-rate superhuman convict named Thunder Core. Our surveillance shows he is in our territory now. There is a one million dollar reward on his head, so good and bad people will be after him and he will not hesitate to use his thunder powers to take everyone out ... .also good luck on your date tonight. If you two get married, name one of your kids after me (wink).” I go red after reading that last part.

“That asshole….but just how powerful is this Thunder guy?” I mumbled. I pulled up his file in our database. Thunder Core used to be a normal construction man back in 2019. Until, one day an ancient relic was discovered on his site. This relic dates back to the Greek God era and was said to be created by Zeus the god of thunder. It gave any who touched it the power of high-beam thunder. This thunder sound and vibration was so powerful, it could explode the human body or melt the brain depending on how he claps his hands.

As I continue to read his file, it says our leader BEAST was the one to take him down, but went slightly deaf in the process. Which explains the hearing aid in his left ear. The relic was never obtained back because Thunder had stitched the relic to his heart with an underground doctor's help. This meant taking it out would kill him and the CIA wanted him alive to use for their own mission as payment for destroying a whole city full of people because his job fired him. I looked at his profile picture and saw he stood at 6 '2 with brown skin, blue eyes and long black dreads. I expected him to be buff like the god Zeus but he was actually lean. Tap!

I look out of the window and see Falcon. I got out of my car and was blown away. She looked gorgeous in her black satin dress with a slit down the front to show the top half of her stomach and long satin drape in the back to hide her wings. Her hair was curled which enhanced the beauty of her makeup and jewelry.

“Well don’t you look handsome.” she complimented me. I smile at her while kissing her lips.

“Thanks, but it’s no comparison to you…you look gorgeous.” I expressed this while we walked to the entrance. We are seated at our table and I couldn’t help but admire the decor of the place. It gave off the vibe of an underground Chinatown street restaurant. We looked over the menu and the prices were high, but anything for her.

“So, Falcon…” she holds up her hand to stop me from talking.

“Falcon is my work name, the same way Beck is yours. I think we can use our normal names tonight. Right, Savior?” she said. I smile at her and nod.

“Okay, Francie. So how was your mission?” I asked. She began to tell me about it and some parts even made me laugh. Then after placing our orders, we talked about our daily hobbies and how we can plan more dates around our crazy schedules. Our food arrives and it looks divine. I ordered the fried lo mein noodles topped with medium-rare flank steak. Francie got the vegetarian stir-fried rice with grilled tofu on the side. Ding! More people were starting to come inside the restaurant and since we were seated by the door, we saw everyone who came inside. One batch was a group of men dressed in all black suits with visors on. The other was a mixed group of young thugs who stood out because the dress-code was not met in the slightest. The last group to walk in were buff men and women who looked nice but had a menacing aura to them.

“Is it me or is this place becoming like an underground restaurant now? I mean at least half these people have guns on them.” she stated with concern.

“Yeah, you’re right. I wonder why they are all here. It’s against everyone's code on the streets to meet in public places with normal people.” Ding! I looked over at the door and couldn’t believe my eyes. “No fucking way?!” I spoke with shock. It’s like BEAST messages could predict the future, but why here and why now. Entering the room was Thunder himself and being a prisoner to the CIA did a number on him. His body had scars over them and he was wearing an eye patch. BEAST never said how he escaped but I am guessing those men in the black suits at the table across from us are from the CIA. While the others are just here for the ransom.

“Hey Savior isn’t that the man BEAST messaged us about?”

“Yep, and if you read his file, then you know why these groups of people are here… but, how did they know he would be here?” I pondered while sipping my drink. Francie sips her while pulling out her phone. She slides it over to me.

“I guess you didn’t finish reading his file. The CIA put nano trackers in his blood once he was given to them by BEAST. So the CIA posted the ransom and gave away his tracking ID. I’m guessing Thunder was waiting in the parking lot for a while before he walked in.” she explained. I nod and begin to quickly finish my steak.

“Sorry, our date needs to be cut short, but we have to get the innocent people and the staff out of here.”

“Savior, there is no need to apologize. This is our life after all, plus getting to kick ass with you is the perfect way to close our date out. So what’s the plan?” she asked. I tell her my plan to basically pull the fire alarm by the restroom and I will guide the people outside. She nods and heads to the back. I look around and see six tables full of families and dates. I walk towards the host and look him in the eyes. He is transfixed and I command him to close the restaurant and lock the front door. Ring! The alarm goes off and I raise my voice.

“Everyone, I just spoke with the host. There is a slight fire outside the front of the restaurant! Please in a calm manner we will all leave through the kitchen exit!” I explained. They all nod and begin to move to the back and like I thought, Thunder and the three groups of people stayed. Francie meets me outside and she is changed into her black body suit with black cloak to hide her wings. I give her a look and she shrugs.

“A spy is always prepared.” she mentioned. She was so cute at that moment that I couldn’t help but kiss her cheek. I wish I thought the same as her, but at least I bought my guns. I turn towards the people and tell them to clear the lot, but before I could explain why, gun shots are fired. They run in terror to their cars.

“Well that was easy.” I whispered. I turn back to the building and roll up my sleeves. We look at each other and nod. We slowly walked back in and everyone who stayed was dead. All over the place were disassembled body parts. If we weren’t used to seeing this, any normal person would have passed out. We see Thunder still sitting at the table eating his food. We walk over there and sit at his table.

“Who are you?” he asked.

“Agent Beck and Agent Falcon of the Crimson Shield. I think you probably know our leader BEAST?” I mentioned. He pauses his eating to look at us. There was no rage in his face, just shock.

“Wow, that monster is still living huh? I never thought anyone could be as strong as me, but he proved me wrong that day. He shut me up with one hard punch to the gut and I almost threw up the artifact…So, why are you here? To take me to him?” he questioned. He actually asked a good question. Do we take him to our base or give him back to the CIA? I look at Falcon and she shrugs.

“We don’t know, to be honest…but looking at this mess and how powerful you are. It is not safe to keep you on the streets when people are after you. So, tell us, if we hadn’t cleared out this restaurant would you have tried to hold back your powers?” Falcon stated. Thunder thinks about it for a second and a twisted smile forms.

“Hell no, in fact it would have made this art work more beautiful. Listen, the CIA have done nothing but torture me for the past six years and since I realized that those nano bugs in me were nothing but trackers and not a bomb, I promised to live my life to the fullest. Even if I am seen as a monster for killing the innocent.” he replied. That answer helped me and Falcon make a decision.

“Well, we know how bad the CIA can be, no matter if some of the jobs do come from them. I mean if you would have chosen the right answer, we would have removed those nano bugs and let you work for us as a second chance. Oh, well. Let’s get that relic Falcon, I believe the CIA have used it enough.” I commanded. She nods as her wings flip the table. He begins to laugh.

“Get my relic you say? Maybe you haven’t heard but it sown to my heart and last time I checked the ransom wants me alive and your company doesn’t kill.” he laughed. Now, it was our turn to laugh with him. He stops laughing as Falcon tosses her mission phone to him. She pulls up the flier with the ransom and picture that was on there. His eyes go wide with shock.

“Yeah dumbass, the flier has your name but the image is the relic which in code means the host can die. It’s true we may not kill, but there is one exception to that rule and that is when a person is choosing to keep a relic for themselves to do evil and is not being possessed by it.” I reveal my guns while Falcon shows her swords.

“Which means this time, our boss will accept us not getting the ransom as long as another evil human doesn’t lay their hands on it.” she finished. Thunder stands and cracks his knuckles. We ready ourselves for the fight of our lives.
