Agent Beck Pt 6

 

 

Mission 6: Alley Monster

“Damn, I just had to take this mission in New York during the New Years Eve ball drop. How can these people stand the cold?” I mumbled while sneezing. I was only here because Agent Falcon went MIA while trying to find an alley monster that was terrorizing civilians. When the big boss told me this, I knew first hand this monster was serious. Agent Falcon was our top agent and was on the same level as me when it came to mission success. So, for her to not check in was a code red for all of us. 

I was quickly on a jet to N.Y. and when I arrived, I followed her phone tracker to an alley in Time Square. Now since this mission was yesterday, this place was empty last night. Now, I had to blend in with the crowd just to check out this alley. Females walk past and begin to giggle when I am on the ground looking for a secret entry way. I politely wave and one girl almost passes out from my looks. They continue to walk and when I look up, I see a camera on a nearby wall. The store was closed for the party but luckily I had an I.T. guy who can hack cameras. I call him and plug my phone into the camera with a USB cord. He obtains the footage and sends it to me.

I looked at the footage and saw Falcon was searching through the alley and I can see vibrations within the camera. A shadow forms on the wall and then it becomes a live monster. It stood at least seven feet tall and had black ooze all over its body. They fight for a while and every attack she would throw was absorbed by his hand. I looked closely at his hand and saw a white shard in it. I remember Falcon was assigned this mission not only for the monster but the crystal that was supposed to have the power to absorb energy and turn it into a living being. She was sent to retrieve it when the energy popped up on our radar.

“I wonder…” I played the footage back two weeks when the energy appeared for a brief moment and then disappeared. I see two men walk through the alley and when I see a tattoo on one of their necks, I knew this was gang related. I see one guy hand over the crystal and the other gave him cash. The man gave the other a warning about the crystal and how it activates with your emotions. “So, think pure thoughts”. The male nods and the one with the cash leaves while the other looks at the crystal. He holds it up to the sun and then a few teens walk past and they seem to be talking about the male. I can see anger fumes him. My guess they were talking about his looks, he wasn’t a looker. The crystal begins to glow and it goes into his hand. His eyes go black and he walks over to the females and they are absorbed one by one into the crystal and his hand turns to goo. 

“Damn it, this means if Falcon's phone signal is right here then she was absorbed too and I have to wait for this bastard to show up for his next victim…” I look over at the females from before at a food stand. “...unless I provoke him with my looks.” I said. I straighten my trench coat and tie while walking over to them.

We talked for a while and just so I could hear them more clearly, I guided them over to the alley. They were laughing at all my jokes and one of them got a little handsy. I tried my best not to growl at her because she was tipsy. I feel my hairs stand and the ground begins to shake. The girls were too busy laughing to notice. A shadow appears on the wall and my target emerges. The girls freeze in horror and I quickly chop their necks to put them to sleep.

“ Beck!!!” I look behind the monster and see Falcon was tied up. She was inside some type of black realm that belonged to this monster. As much as fighting out here in my territory is better, there are too many people out here. I shoot my guns at high speed and force the monster back. I kick him into the portal and I follow. It closes and I run over to Falcon. “Oh my god, I am so happy they sent you. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to find me.” she explained.

“Well, it’s a good thing I raised my hand to go. I’m happy you are safe, if this bastard harmed you, I wouldn’t save the man inside.” I stated while slashing her binds.

“Look out!” she tackles me to the floor to avoid his black tentacles. “Did you say there was a man inside?” I nod while shooting my guns. This time he was prepared and absorbed them. 

“Yeah, some insecure man who was being made fun of and the crystal absorbed his negative energy and has been absorbing women for about two weeks. Which is why his body is completely oozing. If we don’t separate him from the crystal his organs are next. I can still smell blood running through him.” I explained. We dodge his tentacles again and Falcon charges at him with her staff. She slams into his head but it gets stuck. He raises his hand and I shoot at him to gain his attention. He throws her and I charge at him. I jump over him and leg sweep him. Giving me the perfect chance to slice off his hand with my claws. I thought that would work but his hand quickly reattaches. 

“Fuck me!” I yell while flying into a wall. Falcon comes over to me with a ‘what now?’ look. I think about our tactic while remembering the footage. He can only absorb one person at a time. Which means he is vulnerable for two minutes. “Do you trust me!?” I whispered. She nods and as we dodge his tentacles.

“I need you to let him absorb you, but before you let him, give him one good scream.” I command. Her eyes go wide. 

“Are you crazy that will harm…”

“Don’t worry about me and do it!” I said to cut her off. She nods and lands in front of the monster. She reveals her wings and the monster looks at her wings with beauty and then growls. He knew something that beautiful would never be his. He raises his hand and the crystal glows. She smirks at him and releases a powerful scream.

“Ah!” she yells causing the monster to lose focus. Her bird screech was killer to the ears which this monster still had as blood dripped down his ears. It affected me too and I was close to collapsing as blood came down my nose. I run over with the speed of a lion and push her out of the way. I point my gun on the crystal and shoot. The crystal shatters and a bright light consumes us. When it disappears we are back in the alley. The victims the monster had consumed were back and the man and them were passed out on the ground. We quickly gather the crystal pieces and place them in a bag. 

On the roof, we watch the party people as they prepare for the ball to drop. While the people are counting I am giving BEAST the news about the crystal and Falcon.

“Damn that crystal! I am happy you two are both okay. Enjoy the night Beck.” he said. I hang up the phone and Falcon approaches with a smile. I smile back as I can smell her blood pumping. “Two…One. Happy New Year!” the people scream as her lips touch mine. I couldn’t help but deepen it. We part while staring into each other's eyes.

“Happy New Year Beck.” she whispered.

“Happy New Year Falcon.” I smile while pulling her back in for more
