Agent Beck Pt 4
Mission 4: Electric Dragon
Here I am running from this colossal dragon. How did this even happen? Oh, yeah it was because of him…
Three hours earlier:
I am sitting on a luxury plane with a millionaire rich dude called Phoenix. A famous music agent who takes an artist to the next level. We clink glasses of wine and chat about the latest new trends. Usually I hate missions like this, but when you place a glass of wine in front of me, I am okay with being a bodyguard. Being his bodyguard tonight at a black market gala is important.
Since before I joined BEAST, BEAST and Phoenix father are long time friends. Even after BEAST transformation, they are still buddies. Now the father has passed on the ‘phoenix’ title to his son. Unfortunately, unlike the father, the son is a complete weakling. He has no fighting skills and can often be a ditz. So here I am playing babysitter to make sure no thugs approach him at the market. This market is where all the high top villains, scientists, adventurers, and dark celebrities meet to exchange money, knowledge, and rare artifacts.
Thank God, this was a masquerade event, or my ass would be toast. There are plenty of villians I have crossed paths with and they want me dead. The plane lands and we take the car to the event. Phoenix was a talker so it was hard to keep up with everything he was saying. This ride needed to go faster. Ding!
I look at my phone and see a message from BEAST. My eyes go wide at one of the artifacts at the market tonight. It was the Lightning Dragon, an ancient relic that is told to hold a powerful dragon with the abilities to discharge lightning at will. It was feared by many during the samurai era. It was said that this relic was locked up at a military base in Japan. So, why is it here? I don’t know, but I do know this was stolen from them. I am assigned to bring it back to the base and BEAST will give it back to the Japanese military commander.
“Everything okay?” Phoenix asked. I nod while closing my phone.
“Yep. So, what agents will you try and buy celebrities from?” I asked.
“I was thinking of trying for Beyonce and Jay Z agency and see what new blood they are supporting or maybe partner with someone who is trying to revamp the Motown industries. Who knows what tonight will bring.” he replied. I nod my head. Yes, who knows what tonight will bring; indeed.
We arrive at the black market which is being held in an exclusive hotel ballroom. We slip on our masks and I watch Phoenix every movement. I focus my hearing on him and an associate while searching for Dr. Sting. There are rumors from BEAST intel that his men stole the dragon. I see a man with an eye patch and green hair.
“Found you.” I whispered. I briskly walk past to collect his scent. His smell was mellow but had a hint of basil to it. This was what I needed to find his men. I smell the area and then look towards a door leading to the kitchen. I wait for a clearance and go inside. The kitchen was closed for the night but someone was back here. I see a group of men talking around a huge brown crate. I smile at them and they look at me with caution.
“Hold it right there son. There are no guests in the kitchen. This place is reserved by our buyer to be kept private.” one man stated. I stop and begin to rub my head.
“Yeah, I know guys but I am with the manager of the hotel and he wanted me to tell you guys, you will be sharing this room with another vendor and if you could move your crate to the other side of the kitchen.” I lied. They look at each other and nod. I watch them move the crate to the other side. While the crate was lifted I threw an electric bug on it. I leave the kitchen and return to Phoenix. I returned just in time too. He was beginning to sip too much and I can see the guest becoming annoyed.
“There you are, lad. I was starting to think you left me here alone…Now, come say hi to Sting…he is a millionaire doctor…who has discovered the cure for cancer.” he slurred. I gracefully take his wine away.
“I see…well, it is nice to meet you Dr. Sting. I have heard plenty of your findings from other workers. I can’t wait to see what you have to offer tonight.” I greeted. We shake hands and we begin to chat more about his cure for cancer. Which he only gives to the utmost important people while others suffer. Two hours go by and the auction begins. I was happy Dr. Sting was first because I was ready to go home. Having to play babysitter to a drunk man was not fun.
“Phoenix, go wait by the exit, please.” I commanded. The one thing he knew how to do while drunk was still follow orders. He walks towards the door as they bring out the crate. They open the crate to reveal the dragon. It was the size of a shoebox with a flare of orange and yellow colors. Those ruby red eyes glowed in the light.
“The bidding starts at 10,000…” I watch him touch his hand on the crate.
“Bingo.” I click the button and he screams in pain. He passes out and his men run to his side. While distracted, I reveal my gun and take out the lights. People scream with worry from the gunshots. My night vision takes over and I see one of his men try to take the dragon. I hop on stage and kick him away. I grab the dragon and dash towards the door. I see Phoenix and grab his arm. We speed walk to the limo and pull off. I observe the dragon to make sure it’s real. It matches the photo and I can feel a dark energy emit from it.
“What’s that?!” he shouted while swiping the dragon. I try to take it back but he avoids my grab. For someone with no skills, he was good at dodging. I didn’t want to damage it, so I let him observe it until we reached the airport. We reach the airport and I see his plane to the left and my private jet to the right. My job was over and it was time to head back to base. Crack! I freeze with horror from the sound. I begged if it was his wine glass or his phone. I look at him and see the dragon was shattered to pieces. An intense glow takes over my view and when it subsides a mighty 10 foot tall dragon is staring at us.
“Run now!” I told Phoenix. He dashed off and before the dragon could strike, I shot it. It growls at me and I run.
Now…
I feel around my suit for my ray gun. “Damn, wrong suit!” I mumbled. The dragon begins to glow and electric bolts charge around it. It opens its mouth and a hundred watts come at me.
“Ah!” I tumbled further down the airplane track. It snaps its neck and fires again. This time with lion speed, I dodge and run at it. This may be a mystical dragon but it’s still an animal that bleeds. I jump above it and land on its back. I unleash my claws and scratch his back. My claws could cut through anything, so this dragon felt it all. It shakes me off its back and growls. I grab my gun and aim for his eyes.
“Hiss!” Blood ran down its face and it was pissed.
“Why won’t it die?” I whispered while running. This dragon was blind but he was still on my ass like it could see. I look at the shattered relic and see the intact red gems. I catch on and run over to it. The dragon sees my plan and blasts bolts at me. The ground shakes from its impact. I was so close. I grab the gems and run towards the jet. The winds were picking up and when I looked above, the dragon was in my view.
“Fuck!” It lands in front of me and I hold the gem in front of it. It freezes and I bluff like I know what to do. I cautiously begin to walk around it and make it to the stairs of the jet. The obvious answer would be to crush the gems but I need this dragon in the air. I can’t risk this airport dock being destroyed, if this dragon explodes.
“Fly James now!” I command. He looks scared but nods. The jet takes off with the dragon straight on our tail. I open the door and see the dragon is about to blast another bolt of energy.
“Perfect…Here destroy your own life monster!” I toss the gems into his blast and the gems disintegrate. The dragon moans in pain as the body swells up. It explodes and the harsh wind blows me into the wall of the jet. Ring!
“Yeah BEAST?”
“You got the relic?”
“Nope. It’s gone and I have ten bolts of lightning because of it.”
“Phoenix happened?”
“Yep…I can’t babysit him any more, boss.”
“Don’t worry, once I tell his father, his ass is cooked.” he explained. I couldn’t help but smile.
“Agent Beck out.”
