Crescent Moon CH 3.3

It was around seven at night and my parents were waiting for me and Alex-Alexander outside, so we all could head off to this party. After this morning, I wasn’t in the mood to go, but I couldn’t change my mind now. I slipped on my green skin-tight camo dress and some long gold-laced sandals and headed out.

“Don’t you guys look cute.” I said to my parents, who were wearing matching sweat outfits. “Grey totally suits you both.” I finished, trying to put on the best smile I could tonight.

“You look adorable too, Honey.” Mom said. “Too adorable, if you ask me.” Dad added in with a pout. I giggled at his statement giving them both a hug. Then as I was turning towards the car, I heard my Mom scream like a girly-girly, which made me turn around. My face blushed red, thank god my skin was dark or else he would totally see it. Alexander came walking out wearing a red plaid jacket, with a solid black tank, and ripped black jeans, while wearing red timberlands. This whole style suited him nicely and especially with the features he carried which were his beautiful deep red-brown eyes. He looked over at me and I turned my head away.

“You look mighty handsome dear. If only I was younger then-“ my Dad stopped her from talking by pinching her ear.

“You’re too much of a flirt sometimes Bella!” he screamed. I heard Alexander laugh at his comment. “Alright everyone in the car now. So, we can be off.”

While in the car, I saw my Mom look at my handbag. “I thought you hated purses dear?” she questioned. I looked down at my bag.

“Oh, I do, so very much, but it’s getting really dark…and you told me over the phone that the party was being held in the middle of the bayou, so...” pulling out my shank. “Jason will not get me tonight.” I said while smirking.

“You overthink things too much Crescent.” I looked over to my right because that’s where Alexander was sitting.

“How so? I mean last time I checked a dark forest is still a dark creepy forest.” I responded.

“Trust me, I’ve been around this area at night and it’s completely safe. I used to work on the Bayou Rivers, giving people night tours.” I didn’t feel like talking to him right now, so I just nodded okay.

“Yeah, you’ll be fine dear. Just focus on having fun and showing off those old cheerleading and gymnastics moves you use to do when dancing.” she said with a wink. I turned to look out the window because my Mom just embarrassed me and while looking through the glass, I could see a look of lust coming from Alexander's eyes. Which made my face burn hot.

We arrived at the party and it was full of people just dancing, talking, and of course, drinking. Some days I wish I wasn’t underaged so I could do so as well. My parents were already off, talking to some co-workers. While Alexander went to go grab a drink-nonalcoholic of course- which left me alone. I decided to finish texting Sasha from earlier but was interrupted by a cold beverage touching my face.

“Drink?” Alexander asked. I took it, even though I was still mad at him, I didn’t want to be rude.

“Thanks Alex.” I said. He had the look of shock in his eyes but it soon faded once a bunch of guys and girls came walking over.

“Hey, do you guys want to help us do some gymnastic dancing?” they all asked. I wanted some space from Alex so when he said “No.” I said “Yes”. I mean sure it was too hot to be dancing but I might as well try something new-well old considering I use to do gymnastics. She showed me the routine and the next thing I knew their music started playing the beat from the song ‘This is how we do it’ by Montell Jordon. Then that was my cue to start it off. People's eyes were on me and my parents were recording, with Alexander right next to them watching. At first, he was talking to some girl, but when he saw me he gave me his full attention.

I began to dance to a few notes and then came the Aerial Cartwheel. And I heard people going ‘ah’ and ‘oh’. Then the rest of the people came out doing Backflips, then we all started to dance together. Then once it came down to the big finally everyone did an Aerial Walkover and the crowd cheered loudly. I walked away to go receive a hug from my parents who were halfway from being drunk. I noticed Alexander was gone, but right now I really didn’t care. I went back over to my old spot to get my bag, but it was gone.

“Really?!” I screamed. But then I saw it sitting on a log in the middle of the forest. I walked behind the tables and began to walk forward into the forest. Not the place I wanted to be right now, but I needed my shank back, and my phone. I finally reached my bag and looked to make sure everything was there and it was. Then a huge spike of wind hit my face, making me stumble and fall.

“Ouch!” I heard someone say. “I know that must have hurt.” I turn my head to look behind me and find a tall thin man, with light purple eyes and silver short hair standing there. He was wearing a white and silver design kimono. He extended his hand. I took it and he helped me up.

“Thank you…your name?” I asked. All he did was smile when a glowing bright light surrounds his back and then wings appeared.

“Ash and it’s nice to finally meet the next Moon Priestess.” he said. I swallowed hard and began to slowly step back while playing friendly.

“Ah, yes, it’s nice to meet you too, Ash. I mean I have never seen an Angel before, how are you?”

“Oh, I’m fine I just came to do my deeds and I’ll be on my way.”

“Deeds? What deeds?”

“Well, my mistress Lady Paradisa. The Queen of the angels has asked me to deliver a message to you. She wanted me to tell you to ‘Stop trying to find the Yin-Yang pieces because one, you’ll never find them in time, and two if you don’t stop I’ll make your life a living hell!’”

Now even though I just got the message about becoming the next Moon Priest, like today, I’ve already got my first threat and what was even weirder was the fact that the angels already had a leader, so did that mean the demons did too? And if they did why did they need me again. I mean I at least thought that some leaders had some since but I guess I was wrong if they still wanted a war.

“Hey now! Why, don’t you tell your little mistress that if she wants me to stop looking than she must stop this crazy war. If not, then I’m going to keep looking because I’ll be damned if I have to sit back and watch the human population die!” I said. Trying to turn and walk away, he grabbed me by the arm but did I have a surprise for him.

“Why don’t you tell her that yourself and we’ll see how she’ll respond to it now come with..” I whacked him on the arm with my shank making him release me and I took off running. But then I was caught by a swirl of wind and was now floating above the ground. “Where do you think you’re going?” he said pissed. Struggling to break free, I saw a tiny pebble hit his head. Looking over in the direction it was thrown I seen Alexander standing there. Lifting his hand, he shot a fireball at the swirl of wind around me and it disappeared. Landing on my feet I ran over to a nearby tree and stood behind it.

“Who are you?” Ash asked in a very angry tone.

“That’s not important because you’re about to die, for touching mi-lady.” he responded. Then from afar, I could see his neck tattoo glowing red. Then flames of fire formed, consuming him whole. Once subsided he was now standing in his (hot) demon form. Then he launched at Ash. Ash was a good dodger, he never got hit, so I decided to pinch in just a little bit. I began to think about that bitch Paradisa and how she dared to threaten me and launched a medium-size white flame at him. Making him turn around. That was enough of a distraction for Alexander to pull out his sharp blade and slice him in half. Ash turned into sparkles but before he completely left he blasted a shot of wind at the tree I was standing behind. Making it fall, but then just in time Alexander saved me. Laying on the ground he was on top of me and we were both breathing hard. He looked at me with his raging red eyes, it felt like my soul was on fire. I could feel my face getting hotter as I noticed he was slightly blushing.

“Am…Ambush.” he mumbled. “It was all just a plan to get you alone. I sensed about a dozen demons and angels back at the party, so when I went to go check it out, they were fake. The real enemy wanted me out of the picture for a moment alone with you. I’m sorry, I couldn’t get here fast enough.” he explained. Sorrow filled his eyes, which made me feel bad. I caressed his cheek and he slowly gripped my hand. “It’s okay Alex.” I said softly. “Oh, and can you remove your left hand from my breast your claws are hurting it.” I see him become flustered as he removed his hand.

“Sorry.” he said as he helped me up.

“It’s fine, I mean this isn’t the first time that has happened.” I replied shrugging. “But to be honest with you, I’m sorry too. For acting like a big fat child earlier today I mean- “

“No, don’t worry about it. I mean I should have told you as you said. I just didn’t know how you would take it.”

“Well, I probably would have thrown up, like I did after I stormed out of your very neat room.” I said laughing and he began to laugh too. “Look we still have a lot to talk about so make sure you have a bucket with you next time.”

We had re-entered the party to look for my parents and as they stated before, they certainly did get downright drunk. They kept mumbling songs while sitting in the backseat, making me want to use my shank to knock them both out right now. I slapped my forehead, I tried to slap it again but Alexander -you know what, I’m just going to call him Alex, for now, on- stopped me.
