Crescent Moon CH 3.2
She
nodded.
“I
left that book hoping it could help you understand that my legend was real, but
I guess I was wrong. You only took it as good entertainment.” she sighed.
“Wait,
you led me to that book?”
“Yes.
I did it so you could help understand your position more as the new Moon Priestess. As you can see I am no
longer living and if you wish to know why just ask my loyal knight Alex Van
Guard.”
“Wait,
you mean Alexander?” Then I remember that dream a while back when we first
moved in the manor, and now that I’m here, I now know it wasn’t a dream but a
flashback to Ella's old life.
“Yes,
him. Geez, I don’t know why he changes his name so much, it can be quite
annoying.” rolling her eyes. “Now we must talk about your future position come
Halloween night.”
“What
makes you think I want to even take this position? I mean I know I’ve always
wanted adventure in my life, but if that means dealing with demons and monsters
than count me out!” I stated.
“Hey,
don’t forget your angel’s too.” she
added, trying to sound funny. But it didn’t work because I was in full serious
mode. “Sorry, I was trying to lift the mood a little…and trust me I know how
you feel I felt the same way too. Back in 1420, I was scared just like you, but
something changed my mind and it was this..“ she waved her hand and a magical
screen formed and what I saw on it was horror.
People
were lying dead all over the ground blood splattered everywhere and all around
the dead bodies were demons fighting angels. “What the hell?!” I whispered. The
events stopped once she waved her hand again.
“That’s
what got me to step up and how do you say it…be the boss. And this will repeat
itself again if we don’t have someone up there making the right
decisions for them both.” she walked over to sit on Alexander's bed. “The
angels and demons. I know you all were brought up to believe that angels are
good, but there the worse. It’s because of them that the demons of the
underworld want to take them out so badly because the angels once thought they
were superior and believed that no other being should exist beside them.” I sat
next to her seeing she was highly upset, so I placed my hand over hers for
comfort.
“So
basically, if the angels weren’t so uptight then none of this drama would have
begun and they both wouldn’t need a Moon Priest to watch over them.” I said.
She nodded.
“And
thanks to Alexander keeping an eye on both worlds since my passing, he has
informed me that it has gotten worse and for sure this time war will break
loose if a Moon Priest does not step up.”
“Really”
I said shocked. I wanted to ask her how she and Alexander met or how they kept
in contact, considering she is dead. But now didn’t seem like the time, and
that really wasn’t on my mind that much. It was my parents and even the world
of humans and animals and how they would soon be in danger coming the next few
months. I felt Ella touch my shoulder again to help me calm down.
“So,
what exactly do you need me to do, you know besides take the throne.” I know
what you’re thinking why take all this responsibly when I barely know a thing
about the demon and heaven world? Well, I may not know anything, but I do know
that my parents still live on this earth and so does the rest of my family and
it would be painful to know it was my fault for not taking the throne and
settling this problem, that they end up dead. And I don’t think I could
live-no, I know I couldn’t-live with that on my mind.
“Do
you really wish to take my place?”
“Yes,
I mean sure I’m scared as hell right now and once we get through talking with
one another I may throw up. But as long I can keep my family safe, along with
the innocent people that live on this earth too, then I’m in. Just please don’t
say I’ll have to fight demons or angels to do this deed.” I said with worry.
“Well
I hope not but if you do you won’t have to do it alone. You’ll have Alex with
you to help protect you and help you find the Yin-Yang disc with the Tree of
Life on it, so you can take the throne on Halloween.”
“Wait
the..” I was cut off by a slight headache. Ella had stood and walked towards
the center of the room. “I’m sorry, but we have run out of time. To have the
rest of your questions answered you must speak to Alex and he will explain
everything you wish to know.” she said before disappearing with white sparkles
filling the room. I looked in the mirror again to see that everything was back
to normal and I was back to wearing my blue jean dress and black legging with
my white flip-flops. The staff wasn’t glowing anymore either.
“What
are you doing in my room?!” I turned to see Alexander standing in the doorway.
He observed me closely and seen the staff in my hand. “And what are you doing
with my staff?” he questioned. “His
staff? Yeah right, he was so lying right now.” I thought.
“What
do you mean by ‘your staff’? I mean last time I checked you were not the next
Moon Priestess!” I screamed. I watched as his rage turned into a shocked look.
“That’s right bub, I know everything-well some.”
“So, I
see you talked to Ella then. How much did she tell you?”
“Well,
she told me how it was my time to take her place on Halloween night. Oh, and
how if I don’t take her spot a big horror war will take place, and how you were
her knight and how I needed to find a Yin-Yang disc if I wanted to take over.
But she really didn’t tell me how the heaven and below were doing for it led
up to a war and oh, what the Yin-Yang disc was, so she told me to ask you.” I
explained. He began to rub his chin.
“I
see. Well to answer your second wonder first. The Yin-Yang disc with the Tree
of Life on it is the disc that goes in the center of the Crescent Moon staff
and floats around like a spinning disc. Ever since Ella's death by her
betrayers, they took both pieces and hide them off. I’ve found Yang, but Yin
I’m still searching for and I’m slowly running out of time.” he said.
“You
know if you knew what I was supposed to do then why didn’t you tell me
this a week ago. I mean is that why me and my family are here now? Is that why
you’ve been so nice to me and loyal too? All because it’s your job as a
knight!” He wanted to talk but I stopped him by handing him the staff and
walking towards the door.
“You know what? I need time to process all this information and maybe I will talk to you tomorrow or whenever I feel better. But for now, all you need to know is that I’m in because I would hate to see my family suffer more than they already have.” I said leaving out his door and up the stairs. I was hurt and a little bit stupid too, to think that he may have actually liked me, but towards the end, all he was doing was just his job.
