Bitten By Love CH 3.4

This white powder which no one sense but me and Will, filled the gym room. The powder caused everyone to cough and it was hard for us to see. The only person I could see clearly was Xavier, but that was only because he was standing right next to me.

“What the hell is going on?!” he stated, coughing.

“I don’t know, but if we stay in here any longer, we will pass out soon.” I answered, covering my nose and mouth.

“The doors won’t open!” someone yelled from across the gym room. “Just great.” I mumbled. Confirming my theory that this was a trap, set up by Hunter X. The horn finally went silent as I could hear static now fill the room. The static died down and soon a mysterious guy voice came on the intercom.

“Seeing you cough in pain vampires is a dream come true. You vampires deserve to suffer and don’t worry my fellow humans. This powder does not affect you in the least. Now back to my message from our Hunter X leader. She wishes for us to tell you about your precious Prince William. It seems he has bitten a female student and has placed his mark on her. So, we send warning that if you don’t surrender the girl to us then we will make your lives here a living hell. More vampires will die in her name. So, decide wisely you disgusting vampires.” he informed. The whole gym room went into chaos as numerous vampires started to talk about what was just told.

Why didn’t he mention my name. I know they should know it by now. Along with my appearance.” I thought. All of this was confusing, and I had no idea what to do. I heard several windows shatter, along with the ceiling, to help the powder clear out. The powder was now dying down and I could soon breathe again, but it was still hard to see though. An unfamiliar pressure grabbed my shoulder. I turned around with haste to see a mannish figure grabbing me by the waste. He was trying to kidnap me. Everything was moving so fast, that I had no time to fight back. “Let go!” I yelled. I struggled to break free, but the powders aura was still wearing my strength.

“Hey! Let her go!” Xavier commanded. He landed a right hook to the man and he tumbled to the floor. Xavier pulled me to his side and quickly engaged the man. But before he could touch him, he flashed a smoke bomb on the floor. When the powder and smoke bomb cleared, the man was gone. “Are you okay, Cassy?” he asked.

“Yeah…Thanks for saving me.” I replied while rubbing my eyes.

“You’re welcome. I guess that man wasn’t playing when he said vampires would suffer. I mean if you weren’t standing right next to me then…” I stopped him from talking by kissing his cheek.

“I know, that’s why I’m thankful for what you did, Hero.” I complemented. He smiled at me and nodded.

“I’m going to go check on my team. Will you be okay?”

“Go! I’ll be fine. I mean I am a vampire too, you know.”

“Ha! Says the one that almost got kidnapped!” he laughed while running across the gym room. I could see more clearly now and saw a bunch load of girls surrounding someone in the corner. I listened in closely and heard one girl yell, “Is it true our Prince? Did you really bite someone? What about the tournament?!”.

“Everyone, please back away from the Prince and let him through!” a school security guard yelled. I saw some of the guards were carrying sledge hammers. Which let me know they were the ones who smashed the windows. I took a seat on a nearby bench to process everything that just happened.

So, they know who I am, but didn’t out my identity to the school. It must be, so they can have the upper hand and make the King give in to their commands. And since one hunter just tried to kidnap me that means they wanted me locked up. So that upper hand would never die out. Plus, Will wouldn’t have his powers either because that special bite only works once, unless I die…”

“Cassy!”. I was knocked off focus by an annoying and loud voice. Which could only belong to one person. I look up and saw Ariana was hovering over me. She placed both hands on each of my shoulders and starts to shake me. A huge grin appeared on her face.

“What Ari?!” I screamed. I pushed her away to make her stop shaking me. She rushed back with full force embracing me in a hug.

“I saw what you did! You kissed Xavier on the cheek! Are you guys a couple now or what because he is fine to say the least and is just your type?!” she stated with excitement. Not caring at all that the gym room was almost our dying place. She kept hugging me until I answered, which never happened, because I was too busy watching the school guards escort Will out the gym room. “Well?” she added, biting her lips.

“I’ll answer you on the walk home. It’s dark outside and I want to make sure you make it to Mom and Dads place safely. Now come on.” I motioned, pulling on her arm. She shook her head with confusion but still followed me out the gym.

We walked down a path behind the school and next to the forest to reach the parking lot. I still didn’t understand why the parking lot was so far away from the school grounds. “So…” she hummed. I let out a sigh while rolling my eyes.

“If you must know. I only kissed him on the cheek as a show of ‘thanks’ because he saved me from being taken back in the gym room. So, no we are not dating.” I answered. She stopped walking and her silly grin turned into a serious look.

“Wait, what?” she mumbled. Tears started to fall down her face and I quickly embraced her, so she could stop.

“Don’t cry Ari. I’m fine so there is no need to cry.” I whispered. We separated, and she wiped her face. The makeup she was wearing smeared all over, but I could tell she didn’t care. I extended my hand and she grabbed it. We held hands while walking to the parking lot, watching as the stars twinkled in the night.

“I thought that message back in the gym room was just a rumor or prank, but I guess not. I can’t believe the Prince bit someone. I wonder who it was, any guesses sis?” she said. I shook my head in a disagreeing motion.

“No idea…but besides that fact. I still can’t believe the leader of the Hunter X group is a female. And if not, even the King can stop her then she must be as tough and scary as Misty.” I commented, shivering with fear. Ariana laughed at my comment and started to swing our hands back and forth.

“Misty is a scary one. I remember when we switched places for the day and I worked for her one time. She yelled at a customer so bad that I almost peed your maid outfit from fright.” she said.

“Yeah, she has that effect on people. Rather if they are vampire or not.” Crack! We stopped with caution and looked around. I used my sight to look past the trees and saw three hunters with bow and arrows in their arms. I pointed over to that tree and Ari saw what I saw. “Ready to show off that level three power, sis?” I asked, smirking. She smirked with me and nodded.

“You know it…but what about those other three guys over there.” she questioned. She pointed over to a pine tree behind us and I saw three more guys who were holding guns. “We meet up at the car?”

“Yeah, that seems good.” I answered as we both dashed off. I took on the guys with the guns while she handled the ones with arrows. I watched as the hunters prepared their guns and started to fire. I avoided each bullet with ease and jumped into a nearby branch. The hunters looked around with confusion. I leaped from the branch and landed on top of a hunter. He impacted the dirt hard and I swiftly took his gun.

“Hold it right their lady or we’ll shoot!” a hunter yelled. I turned around and saw they both had their guns pointed at me. I grinned at their resolve and dropped the gun. The one thing I loved about the night forest was there was no light in sight, only darkness. And the one thing I learned back in Human Biology was that the human eyes are attracted to light no matter the source. I focused my energy and looked them both in the eyes.

“Freeze” I commanded. They froze within seconds which made me snicker because my complement had worked. “Now kill each other!” They both shot each other in the heart and fell to the ground. I wanted to celebrate this win, but I forgot about the hunter who was under me. He rose with fury, making me tumble and fall. He reached for his gun and smiled.

“You will pay for that you Bitch!” he screamed, pulling the trigger. But as the bullet came out it immediately froze in mid-air.

“You really need to better your skills and become a level three already sis. I can’t keep saving your butt like this.” Ariana said, smiling. She flicked her finger and the bullet went straight into the hunter head. I stood and brushed the dirt off my pants.

“Thanks, and also…” I sped behind her and slammed a female hunter head into a tree. “Now we’re even.” I said.
