Ancient Love CH 4.1
I decided to sleep in on Sunday, well-tried to sleep in but it was kind
of hard when my Dad came busting through my door around 9 o’clock this morning.
“I smell blood. Tell me everything that happened son now.” he stated
excitedly.
“Just a few more hours’ Dad, it was a long nig-” before I could finish
my sentence, he pulled me out of bed like it was nothing and carried me over
his shoulder to the living room sofa. He dropped me down on the sofa and sat
beside me questioning me like a little owl. I rubbed my eyes and got up to
close the curtains the sun was just too bright for me and I know my Dad didn't
like it either no matter how much magic sunscreen he put on. “Well?” he said. I
turned and sat on the couch “OK, ok, I’ll tell you what happened.”
“Good, I thought I was going to have to read your mind at first.” he
responded while smiling.
I told him everything from my girlfriend's secret and how her smell was
intoxicating to the two vampires who attacked us last night.
“Woah son. So, let me get this straight your girlfriend is a werewolf
who smells like vanilla. Then while coming home from the picnic you to were
jumped by two vampires too.” he questioned.
“Yeah, Dad. Then when I tried to read his mind the vision came out
blurry. That never happened before, and I don’t know why it happened now.” I
stated while looking at him with a worried expression. He put his hand on my
shoulder insuring me that everything would be okay as he went in his room
returning with a thick brown book.
“What's that?” I asked.
“A book full of magical answers that we both are looking for right now.”
he answered.
“Really!? I never saw one up close and personal before.”
“Ah, yes I had this book for many centuries now; I just never thought I
would need to use it again.” he said. He opened the book, flipping from page to
page until he finally found an answer to one of my problems.
“Aw here it is...you said two men one with grey hair and the other red,
right?”
“Yeah, Dad what does the book say?” I wondered as he read the page out
loud.
“A clan living as long as the Kings themselves were a race of
knight-like creatures who ruled the night serving each King of all-natural being.
They fulfilled all the King’s dirty deeds, so they could keep their reputation
intact. So, all their work would be done by them, so the Kings could be
blood-free. So, the clan wears grey and red colors to represent who they are as
people and that there not to be played with, they are Rebel Warriors.”
My Dad explained to me more about these warriors, even explaining to me the
different kinds of King Creatures there were Kings for witches and warlocks,
zombies, ghosts, and even sea creatures and gargoyles.
“Ok so now that I know who they are it still doesn't explain why they
attacked me and Yaz.” I said.
“Well, the only answer we have is that one of the Kings sent them. The
only answer we don’t know is why.” he said while walking towards the kitchen.
“The only kings I know is the Vampire King Maxwell and I guess Prince
what’s his name too, but I never had a problem with either of them.” I said
following him.
“It’s Prince S. Wolf son and yes, I don’t know who could have sent them
on you, but all I can say is to watch your back for now. So, to help you out,
tonight we train in combat.” he said as he grabbed a glass of animal blood from
the fridge. “And for the rest of your problems involving your girlfriend smell
and bloodline. All I can say son is that going to stop you from dating her if
you love her then you'll accept her no matter what... right. It’s what me and
your mother had and I believe you can have it too.” As he walked toward his
room to get ready for work as he was closing the door he said, “She’s your Angel
after all...right.” with a wink he shut the door.
“I thought you said you weren't going to read my mind Dad!” I screamed.
“I lied son!” he said.
…...
It was a little past noon when I decided to call Yaz and check on her,
but to my surprise, she called me first. I picked up and by accident, we both
said “Hello.” at the same time.
“(laughing) Hey, how are you?” I asked.
“I’m fine I still have pie and specks of blood in my hair but other than
that I’m fine. How about you?”
“I’m sleepy and sore. Now I know why they always say stretch before
taking action, by the way, I got a little info on the guys who attacked us last
night.” I told her everything my Dad had told me, but I gave her the quick
short version of it.
“Ok well that explains a lot about the two guys but the only question
remaining is which King sent them?” she said.
“Well if they send more after us then one of those warriors are bound to
give us the answer...right?”
“Maybe, but if we're talking about different supernatural beings coming
after us for a reason we don’t know why then we have a serious problem.”
“Aww don’t tell me you're afraid of a little creature party now, are
you?” I said teasing her, but the truth was I was a little scared too.
“Oh shut up, I was just making a statement Eric. But anyway crimson boy
what are you doing today because now that we got these people on our
hand I have to start going to karate class again, starting tonight.” she
explained. “Crimson Boy” I
thought.
“Well, something I and you have in common because tonight I’m training
with my Dad and I know he’s gonna give me hell too. Does that answer your
question shorty?” I couldn't possibly call her vanilla wolf until she knew what
she smelled like.
“Yes it does” she said while laughing. As almost two hours went by we
talked about everything from the Rebel Warriors to our job tomorrow to our next
date plan which was a visit to little old Lake Michigan this Friday to camp out
until Sunday afternoon. We finally hanged up and as I look at the time it was
around 6 o’clock and I knew I wasn’t looking forward to tonight as I watched
the sunset.
