The Elemental Academy Ch1

Intro: A young human female can bend the four elements. She has kept this a secret from everyone. But when a fairy is being hunted down by hunters, it is up to Kristen to save her causing her secret to be blown. Now, she has the chance to be with others of her kind, except they can only bend one element. Why can she bend four? This power is no joke and now her life is in danger at a school that is supposed to keep her safe.

THIS IS A REAL STORY AND COPYRIGHTED, THIS BOOK BELONGS TO ME! ENJOY!

Long ago when society was old, and technology was young. The witches dimension of the 1900s was up to no good. A group of evil witches and warlocks called the Devils Hand were trying to gain more magic from an ancient elemental crystal. Their goal was to harness its power and possess the will to bend all four elements of life. Water, Fire, Earth, and Air; this crystal would give them the powers to control their world and dimensions far beyond. From this huge silver crystal that emitted a rainbow glow, they would all become 'Crystalline'. Powerful beings that no one could stop.

Their plan was following through as each witch and warlock raised their hand.

"Rystalcay rantgay emay owerpay! (Crystal grant me power!)" they repeated.

The crystal started to glow brighter and its essence began to travel towards the witches. All was going as planned until the witches council and their leader Spirit Caster put a stop to it all. The battle was fierce, and blood was shed, but in the end the crystal was destroyed, and the worlds were safe from harm. Although the crystal was destroyed its spiritual essence was spread across the dimensions, granting elemental abilities to other beings. Not only was the essence spread but the main power core -a mini crystal about the size of a key- was blasted from the witches dimensions and traveled far and long until it reached the Earth dimension.

There the power core traveled the planet searching for a host to call it's own. Someone who was worthy of its power and would use it for good when needed. Years went by and the mini crystal was close to giving up its search. Then out of nowhere, a subtle cry filled the sky. It was the cry of a young child being born into the world. The crystal felt its worth and traveled towards it at high speed.

In the small city of Bloomington, Indiana, January 1st, 2000, a baby girl was being born. The parents of this soon to be a 'special' child was Julie Bell and Dustin Bell. Two young African American people who have struggled for many years and could not possible support a child. Though they knew the struggle, they still chose to have this child and give her as much love and support they could provide, no matter the struggle. The baby was held in Julie's arms. This made her smile and as they both watched the baby, the crystal hovered in through the hospital window. It shimmers and shined in front of the parents. They were amazed by its glow and they watch the crystal disappear into their baby girls chest.

They were stunned by this action, but all the baby did was giggle with joy. Just from that laughter, the parents chose not to worry about what they just saw happen. The moon was shining bright that night and they still haven't chosen a name for the baby.

"So, what should we name our 'special' girl?" Dustin asked.

"How about Kristen...yes, Kristen Bell." Julie answered with a smile.

"That sounds perfect.". As they smiled at one another, the crystal glowed in her chest again that night. And little did her parents know, was that Kristen was going to grow up to be someone 'special' indeed. The first-ever human Crystalline to walk the realms of Earth and one day be the savior of the universe.

January 19th, 2019

Since that day nineteen years ago. Kristen has grown up into a fine young woman. Or should I say a 'powerful' young woman? Oh yes, it didn't take her long to discover she was different from the rest of her people. Whenever she would get hurt as a child she would quickly heal and be back on her feet. And when the cold or hot weather would hit her state, she would not be bothered by it. Her skin would never sweat or shiver cold. So, from these traits she questioned herself and who or what she really was while growing up. It wasn't until she was fourteen and while watching her favorite show The Legend of Korra, that she tried to mimic the great avatar powers. She was just having plain fun until her playing become reality. When she playfully shot fire, it became real. Her bedroom wall was burned to a crisp. Then the same thing happened with the rest of the elements. Water moved around her body, air blew through her fine deep brown hair, and the earth hovered above her feet.

"What is going on?!" she thought that day. If her parents didn't come in that day to check on her, they wouldn't have believed what they saw. After that event, her parents told her about what happened to her after her birth at the hospital. Kristen couldn't believe a word they were saying until they mentioned the light being the shape of a 'mini crystal'. She places her hand on the center of her chest. There was where her birthmark stood, a bright red crystal on her chest that would sometimes change aura colors. Which she always found weird but now she knows why they would change colors. Depending on the element she would use, is the color it would represent. Earth was green, water was blue, fire was red, and air was grey.

So, since finding out the truth about her birth she has since then hid her powers from the world. Not because she wanted too but because her parents told her not to draw attention to herself and be possibly taken by the government. Kristen didn't want her parents to worry, so she obeyed when out in public. But when it came to her privacy of being at home in her backyard or somewhere in a dark forest, she would practice her abilities. Five years of practicing have led her to better control her powers and live a more stress-free life.

It is now winter in the state of Indiana and the 19-year-old Kristen is now on her way to work. She walks out her room and past her shivering parents. They were looking over bills that needed to be paid. She sighed at the thought of her parents struggling to pay this months rent. This is why she chose to not go away for college and to get a job after high school to somewhat help her parents pay the bills. Kristen sees her father ashtray in the middle of the coffee table. She puts her fingers in a gun shape and shoots fire from it. A small fire forms in the ashtray. Her parents turn around and give her a smile.

"Thanks, our little Avatar." the Mom states. "Are you off to work already?" she asked giving a concerned look. She hated that her daughter worked the night shift. Just coming home in the morning was dangerous in this neighborhood but at night was even worse.

"Yeah, Mom and please don't worry about me. Remember I'm the girl who can bend the elements at her will...which in my defense is scarier than a gun." Kristen comments, winking. The mother sighs and all the father does is laugh.

"Dustin! That is not funny!" Julie yells.

"What...our daughter does have a point. Plus, that hairstyle she wears is pretty intimidating too. So, enjoy work sweetheart and be safe." Dustin says to Kristen, waving her off. She returns his wave while blowing both of them a kiss. Kristen's hair was different from the rest of teens her age, but she liked to be different. Her hair was still deep brown but her left side was a quartered shaved, leaving her with just thick wavy hair on the right side. She also carried multiple piercing in both her ears. This look was scary to most people but the people at her job just found it cute and innocent.

Kristen arrives at Sports Master. An athletic store that also held a sports game on weekends. She was a cashier there and sometimes a teacher of basketball when the coach couldn't make it. This job was simple, but the pay and benefits were worth it.

"Good evening Kris!" Steve screams with joy. Steve was her co-worker and would often coach the baseball games there.

"Okay, since when are you happy to be here on a Saturday night?" she questions.

"Since this...". He shows her a flyer for a chance to win ten thousand dollars at a karaoke contest. "You know I have an amazing voice and can win this contest with no problems. And be out of this dump by Monday." he winked.

"Sounds cool and all but who will be your partner?" she asks, pointing to the fine print of the flyer. He reads the fine print and his face goes dark.

"I am never leaving this place!" he screams. Kristen couldn't help but laugh as she clocks in for work. She pats his shoulder and all he does is a sigh. Kristen stands at the counter greeting people and cashing out their items. It hits nine o'clock and a huge crowd comes in for the baseball game in the back of the store. Since it was now her lunch break, she decides to take a peek outback. People were cheering some were booing. She walks over to Steve who is monitoring the game.

"So, what are stats?" she asks.

"A game between the Titans and Wolves, so far everyone thinks the Titans will win tonight. So, no one has bet on the Wolves."

"Really?! So how much are on the Titans?"

"About two thousand dollars. But it's really not a lot you would get back because of everyone that has bet on them. Each person will probably get fifty bucks. But if someone was to bet on the Wolves then they would win the whole two thousand." he states nudging my arm. Kristen already knew what Steve was suggesting and she wanted in.

"Alright then. I place a bet on the Wolves for twenty bucks." she said handing him the money. He takes it and places it in the money box.

"I see a future winner of two thousand dollars...oh wait, make that two thousand and twenty dollars." he winks.

"Thanks, Steve you're the best." she whispers. Usually when it came to betting games here the opposite would happen, and the winning team would start to do badly around the fourth quarter of the game. Kristen returns to the shop with a huge grin on her face. This money would help her parents out nicely for the next few months. Now, all she had to do was wait. She leans on the counter watching the falling snow. She gazes over to the park across the street and notices something odd.

A young girl was running through the park with fear all over her face. Kristen perks up with worry. The girl falls in the snow and then Kristen sees the people she was running from. A group of men who were buffer than normal men she has seen in this area. She looks down at her hands and then at the girl who was struggling to break their grasp. Kristen takes a breath and yells to Steve who was just walking back in to take his lunch break.

"Going to the park to...to play in the snow!" she lies, grabbing her jacket with a thick hood. Steve gives her an odd look and just shrugs as she leaves.

Kristen runs across the streets and follows the men dragging the poor girl away. She flips on her hood and keeps walking. She steps on a branch by accident and quickly jumps behind a thick tree.

"That's far enough boys!" one man said. They drop the girl in the snow. Kristen takes a look at the girl and couldn't believe her eyes. This girl was unrealistic, she had pale skin that blends in with the snow. Her eyes were white, and her short straight hair was sky blue and she had this weird mark on her neck.

"Okay enough with that stupid form. We know you are a fairy." another man states.

"A fairy?" Kristen mumbles.

"I have no idea what you are talking about...Now let me go!" the girl commands. The group of men laughs, and one kicks snow in her face.

"We are not that dumb lady or else we wouldn't be fairy hunters...and right now your wings are worth a lot on the web." he answers. The girl stands at her own risk and brushes the snow off her pencil black skirt. She was quite petite when it came to her height. Making her look like a freshman in high school. She shakes the snow off her white blouse and looks at the men with rage.

"Okay, you've got me. I am a fairy, but you will not make me surrender or give up my wings!" she states. Then with a flash of light blue wings form behind her back. They glimmered under the shining moon.

"I can't believe my eyes. Why is a fairy here on Earth or better yet in this low-rank town?" Kristen thinks while still watching them.

"Come to the Human dimension, the Hunters won't find you there...yeah right, that is the last time I listen to my college buddies." she hisses. She starts to hover in the air and was about to zoom off. Kristen sees a chain wrap around her ankle. The girl looks down and rolls her eyes. She simply raises her hand and that man is soon hovering in the air.

"Oh, did I forget to mention I am not an ordinary fairy, I'm an Elemental one!" she explains, slamming him to the ground. The man rubs his head and gives the girl a pissed look. He motions his men to move in. They surround her from the ground but all she did was a giggle. She attempts to fly away, but something explodes in her face. The fairy crashes to the ground in pain.

"We got you now little lady. Grab her boys." he commands. Kristen ponders if she should help this poor fairy girl. The men begin to pull her away. The fairy struggles to break free. "Damn it!" Kristen thinks. She appears from behind the tree and forms a fireball in her hand. Her birthmark begins to burn a bright red. She throws it and it impacts a tree full of snow. A huge pile of snowfall lands on two of the men. The man holding the fairy turns around.

"Let her go or burn!" Kristen demands. Her hands turn to fire and she could see fear form in his eyes. One man pops his head out of the snow.

"Shoot her now!" he states. He nods and reveals his gun. He fires multiple bullets and Kristen lifts the snow from the ground turning it to form an ice wall. "What the hell?!" he yells. Kristen takes a breath and hits the ice wall launching sharp ice daggers from it. They drop the fairy and attempt to run away.

"Oh no, you don't!" Kristen yells. The ice wall comes down and she heavily stomps the ground and it lifts above the ground, stopping the men in their tracks. They turn around shivering where they stood. Kristen approaches them with her hands back on fire.

"Please don't hurt us! We were only doing our assigned job!" they cried. Kristen stops and wraps them in the essence of fire.

"Then you better put in a 'fake' report saying you caught her...understood!" she states. They all look at each other and nod. Kristen makes the fire disappear and brings the earth back to the ground. They run off in a hurry. Thank God Kristen hood was huge enough to cover her face or they could cause her trouble in the future. She turns around and saw the fairy girl giving her an 'aww' look. Kristen shrugs and attempts to walk away. She feels someone grab her arm. It was the fairy; her wings were away. This girl extended her hand with a huge grin.

"Hi, my name is Faith Wind! Thank you for saving me. I have never seen someone bend three elements or is it four?" she mumbles that last part while backing away. Kristen watches as she forms an airball. Kristen is confused about what she is doing until she launches it. Kristen had no choice but to stop it with her own hand so her face would not be revealed. The airball freezes in midair and then disappears. Faith starts to giggle with glee.

"So, you can bend the four elements. Oh my god, you are a legendary 'Crystalline'. We have learned about you in History class, but they said you were myths..." Kristen tries to walk away but Faith stops her midway. "...You must come with me to the University. Everyone has to meet you!" she exclaims. Kristen pulls her arm away and pops Faith in the forehead.

"It's rude to grab people in this neighborhood...Also, no, I will not follow you to some school. I only got involved so you wouldn't lose your wings. Now leave me alone." Kristen explains, walking away. Faith stands there not knowing what to do next. Kristen returns to work. Steve approaches her with a smirk.

"I guess someone did go play in the snow...also here." he states handing her a check. She had won the bet and that made her night a little better.

"Thanks, Steve you're the best!" she replies, winking.

"Tell me something I don't know, Kris." he said, laughing. She laughs with him as their nightshift continues on. Even through all the laughter, she couldn't get what Faith said off her mind.

"What the hell is a Crystalline?" she thought.

===

Kristen arrives home, still pondering what that fairy girl Faith said. "Welcome home sweetie." her mother greets.

"Mom, why are you still up? It's almost 1 in the morning." she asks, hanging up her coat.

"You know I am always up, to make sure you come home safely. No matter if you have powers or not, I will still worry." she explains. Kristen smiles at her answer and hands her the check from work. "Where did you get this money from?!". The mother is full of happiness but also shock. Kristen shrugs while sitting at the kitchen table.

"I placed a bet at work for one of the games and won the money. And I know you guys can use it way more than me." Kristen replies. She gets up to grab a glass of water. She sits it on the table and starts to bend it with her finger, sighing. Her mother notices and sits right next to her.

"What's wrong Kristen?" she questions, worried. Kristen puffs her cheeks and rolls her eyes.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you...it is just so unreal."

"Well considering I saw a simply glow of light enter your chest as a baby and give you powers, just try me. I am here to listen." she states. Kristen takes a breath and tells her mother everything. Once the story was told, her mother eyes went wide. Kristen snickers at her reaction, shaking her mom to snap out of it.

"See I told you it was too much..."

"Wait, so this fairy girl called you a Crystalline from some myth? What the heck is a Crystalline?" the mother question, cutting her daughter off.

"I don't know Mom. I mean I have been trying to Google that term all day but no luck. I even searched the dark web off of Steve phone...Then the school thing, why would she want me to go to her school because I am some 'Crystalline'? It makes no sense. I hope we never meet again." Kristen exclaims, exhausted. The mother walks behind her chair and wraps her arms around her neck.

"Well Kristen, for the first time in mother history I have no advice that can help you. This is your world and only you can determine what you want. And no matter what you choose I will support you no matter what. If you want to see what this fairy girl is talking about and visit the school, then I say go. Just be cautious and careful." she explains, letting her daughter go. "Also, dinner is in the microwave."

Kristen nods and heats up her dinner. While eating, she felt her birthmark and sighed. "Would there really be more people like me?" she thought. She finishes dinner and heads to her room. Removing her uniform and changing into a simple tank and polka-dot blue shorts, she jumps into bed. She stares at the ceiling still thinking. A breeze enters her room making her shiver. Kristen freaks at that movement, remembering that she never gets cold. She slowly turns in her bed and is greeted by a familiar face. Faith covers her mouth to keep her from screaming.

"Don't scream or you will wake your parents...also, I love your hairstyle it goes perfect with your brown eyes." Faith warns with a smile. Kristen slaps away her hand and rushes out of bed. She stands in a fight position. Faith gives a surrender look, making Kristen slowly calm down.

"How did you find me?!" she whispers. Faith sprouts her wings and then Kristen notices blue sparkle on her left hand.

"Simple tracking dust, well powder...So what is your name human?" she asks, not caring that she is trespassing.

"My name is 'Get Out'!" Kristen states, pointing to the window. Faith rolls her eyes and giggles.

"That's funny and I guess a unique name. It is nice to meet you Get Out. Now tell me, why won't you come with me to the University? There you can learn more of your abilities and grow stronger as an individual." she explains. Kristen gives her an odd look. She couldn't tell if this fairy was playing games with her or just plain weird. Then a familiar show enters Kristen's head.

"I guess airheads do exist in this world...Listen, Faith, as much as your school sounds interesting, it is not for me. So, please leave before I light your wings on fire." she explains, lighting up her hands. Faith hovers around her and laughs.

"You won't hurt me. It's not in your nature if it was those guys from the forest would be burned to ashes. But yet you chose to let them go." Faith reminds. Kristen rolls her eyes and huffs. She makes her hands go out and sits on the edge of her bed.

"I guess you are not such an airhead after all." Kristen mentions.

"Of course, not Kristen Bell. Those are only tall tales when it comes to fairies. Also, don't freak but I made have been following you since you got off work and listening in to your families conversation...sorry." Faith said, bowing her head in shame.

"Well, it explains how you know my full name and where I live." Kristen said, laying down.

"Wait why are you laying down?!" she questioned, confused.

"Because I am tired and since I already know you won't hurt me, you can stay here for however long because my answer is still no to the school." Kristen answers, turning over to the wall. She is about to dose off until Faith blue wings emit a bright light. Kristen covers her face with a blanket, but it doesn't help. Kristen peeks at Faith through her covers. She is pouting and puffing her cheeks. Reminding Kristen of all the kids that would run into the shop to buy sports gear. Kristen sighs and removes her covers.

"Listen, Faith, I can't give you an answer tonight, but if you tell me more about this so-called 'Elemental World' then I will give you a proper yes or no reply. Deal?" Kristen said, extending her hand. Faith face lights up with joy and she shakes her head in an agreeing motion. Kristen sits up and pats the bed, so Faith knew to sit next to her. Faith goes beside her and Faith begins to tell her all about the Elemental World and more.

Faith explains to Kristen how the elemental appearance began back in the early 1900s. Faith thought it was just her people from the fairy dimension who gained the elemental abilities but when she explored more dimensions with her friends, she found out she was wrong. Supernatural creatures who were not supposed to have any powers at all gained the ability to control different elements. Some vampires could bend fire while werewolves could control the earth. Dragons could not only breathe fire but control its movement with its eyes and claws. Phantoms and shadow beings could control the air and even move swap water. Lastly mermaids who were only known to swim the sea could suddenly bend the water at their will.

Faith goes on to tell how each supernatural being even some humans could only bend one element and had a certain mark located on their body which deciphered the element. Faith points to her neck, showing Kristen her air symbol birthmark.

"Okay, thank you for telling me about other dimensions and supernatural beings and the elements some can bend. But what does that have to do with this school you mentioned before?" Kristen asks. Faith slaps her forehead.

"Right, right, sorry. The school I want you to attend is called Mystical Elements University. It is kind of like what you humans call a college. This place was made by a witch named Spirit Caster, she doesn't have any elemental abilities, but she does have a kind heart and when she would explore other dimension, she saw the different beings struggling to control their powers, so she decided to help them. She opened the university to help them better control their elemental powers and reach the highest level of elemental supremacy. It usually takes two-three years to do it but the place has room and board too so they wouldn't have to portal back and forth to school. And since everything is made by magic and sorcery, the cost to attend is free." she explains, trying to catch her breath.

"I see, sounds quite interesting and also fishy at the same time. I mean why would one witch put in so much effort alone just to teach people how to control their powers? It seems quite odd to me." Kristen adds.

"That is true, but I have gone there for one semester now and everything seems fine...and you can trust my word on that because I am a fairy. We are cursed to never tell a lie or else our wings will never flutter again." Faith confirms, smiling. Kristen smiles back to not make Faith worry. "Still though, it doesn't mean she has explored every inch of the school including possible secret rooms. Because no witch is every this nice unless something is gained in return." Kristen thinks, rubbing her chin.

"Well?" Faith questions, interrupting her thoughts. Kristen rubs the back of her head. Faith gives her the puppy dog eyes. Kristen sighs but before she could answer, she hears a noise in her backyard. Faith hears it too and follows Kristen to her window.

"What the hell is going on?!" Kristen said with worry. What she saw was multiple trees in her backyard starting to move. They sprung from the ground and started to take shape. They shaped themselves into normal-looking people.

"Oh, great they found me!" Faith informs.

"Who found you?! Just how many people want you dead?"

"See, it's not that they want me dead...you see I am the next Queen of the fairy world and because I chose to disobey my father and go to the university. He is still quite mad and will often send tree guards to try and bring me back home. I wouldn't have to worry about this at school because it is protected by a barrier." she explains.

"Please tell me why I shouldn't just push you outside right now? And don't say it's because we are friends because we are not."

"Wait, why aren't we friends? I thought we made a great connection together..."

"Faith focus! We need your guards out my backyard before they wake the whole block." Kristen states.

"Okay, okay. These trees are really sensible to fire, but it has to be high heat fire and with it being winter here, that will be hard to do." she replies.

"Maybe not..." Kristen mumbles. She pulls on Faith arm and they head outside. "...I have an idea that I seen in a movie once.". The tree monsters are coming closer in Faiths direction. Faith backs away with fear. Kristen holds her in place.

"Form an airball in your hands." Kristen demands. Faith nods and forms a small airball. Kristen forms a fireball in her right hand and places it inside of Faith airball. Faith can feel the fire inside the airball growing hotter by the second. Faith caught on to her plan and makes the airball bigger. Kristen keeps piling on more and more fireballs into the air sphere. The sphere is now the size of two basketballs. "Alright when they come an inch closer, bust the bubble." Kristen informs. Faith shakes her head and readies herself. The tree monsters move closer and Faith claps her hands together. The fire releases itself and the heat feels like a sauna. Kristen bends the fire and pushes in the direction of the trees. They moan in agony as they slowly burn to a crisp. Their ashes fall to the ground.

"Cool it worked." Kristen whispers, amazed. Faith gives her a big embrace nearly choking her to death. Kristen pushes her off and gives her a stern look. Reminding her it was her fault for those tree things being here. They return into the house and back to Kristen room.

"So, about school?" Faith questions.

"Yes, I will check it out with you if it means fewer tree people and fairy hunters." she answers. Faith jumps with joy as she sprouts her wings. She walks toward the window and opens it.

"This is great. We can tour the campus tomorrow, so I can get a sure 'yes' from you. Meet me at the park where you saved my life in the morning at 8. See ya, tomorrow friend!" Faith squeals with joy. She leaves her room and Kristen watches her fly off. Kristen returns to her bed, exhausted.

"Why does it feel like tomorrow will be the day I regret the most...and since when are we friends?" she mumbles to herself while drifting off to sleep.
