Crescent Moon CH 2.3
After playing around for a while and talking with Alexander, we both decided to take off and get cleaned up before my parents came home. The shower felt nice, but since this was my only alone time, I decided to figure out this so-called blast that comes from my hands when I try to focus. I focus but nothing was happening now. Then because I’m a science fiction kind of girl, I figured out that it had to be linked to my emotions. I began to think angry things like that stupid fired beast that tried to kill me. Then just like that a small ball of white fire formed in my hand. Even though it was water running all over me the flame never subsided. Cool! I thought. Then as I began to calm down my fire slowly turned into a swirl of white wind. I was moving my hands up and down enjoying this little magic show until yet another vision came to my head. It was that crescent staff again, but the picture wasn't as strong this time like it was down in Alexander's room. A knock comes at the door bringing me back but also making my so-called magic disappear.
“Yeah!”
I yelled stepping out the shower. “Excuse me?” I know that voice from anywhere.
“I
mean yes, Mom?!”
“That’s
better. Oh, and nothing just wanted to tell you that me and your father are
home and dinner will be ready in twenty.” she answered. “Oh, and Alexander will
be helping me too.”
“Okay Mom”
I said wrapping a towel around me. It was kind of shocking to learn that
Alexander was back in action already considering he still should have been in
the shower like me.
While
I was waiting for dinner to be prepared, I decided to go to the study which was
filled with a ton load of books. This lets you know I watch way too many horror
movies because I was bringing my shank along with me. The study was nice and
large that it should have been called a library. Walking around looking for any
kind of book to read, mostly ones about crescent moons-no pun intended-and then
I found one. I opened it reading it page from page, learning lots of stuff
about the moon, even the glowing blue crescent moon that I was born on.
Learning that it comes around every eighteen years but had no specific date of
when it would appear in that year. Thinking about when I was born and how I’m
eighteen now, means it was time for it to appear again but when is a total
mystery, but it had to be soon because this year was almost up. Then when I
turned to the next page I noticed a sticky note, it read ‘October 31st’.
That’s Halloween. I thought. I closed
the book and went to search for others.
It was
a nice couple of selections to go through, but it was one book I was looking
for in particular and that was a legends book. I love those types of
books, I mean how do you think Bloody Mary came to be. It was getting dark and
I decided to switch on a lamp but then I heard footsteps creaking behind me. I
unleashed my shank and point it at my target.
“Woah
you weren’t kidding.” Alexander said. I let out a small sigh while slamming it
on the floor to make it go back in. “Oh, sorry I didn’t mean to scare you
again.”
“It’s
cool, so may I help you.” I asked.
“Ah,
yes your mother wanted me to come to get you for dinner.”
“Oh,
okay tell her to give me five minutes and I’ll be down.” He nodded and walked
off. I was beginning to leave myself when a glimmer came to my eyes. I followed
it and stopped at a book just lying in a nearby chair. How did I not notice it
before? I shrugged and picked it up to observe it. Reading the title, it said
‘Legends to Believe or Not?’ and sticking up from within the pages was a small
book tab. I opened and read the chapter saved, it was called ‘Moon Priestess’. “Interesting.” I thought while leaving
the study and taking my shank and book back to my room and heading downstairs
to dinner.

A week
had gone by since moving into the manor and it was peaceful too. No more
strange kidnappings happened at night, but I did hear painful screams coming
from the forest some nights. So that convinced me not to go to the forest at
night. And while some nights I had strange dreams about Alexander holding me in
his arms while I was sleep or would be caressing my cheek-okay so maybe not
strange, but hot-and the best part was when he would peck a small gently kiss
on my lips. Oh, and as for that book, I found it interesting on the subject of
the Moon Priestess. For one, it is told that the Moon Priest was born on the
first ever-glowing crescent moon which was back in the 1400s. She was a
powerful beauty and saw balance in all, no matter who they were. That’s why
between the Heavens and Below she was like a consular to them and solved each
problem they had, and to show her forever living legend people painted or even
drew the glowing blue crescent moon as a staff with a little black and white
disc floating in the middle of it. This was her very own special symbol. Now, I
thought this was super cool and thought it was almost a connection because of
the staff and being born on the same moon too, but the book never mentioned her
having any powers besides to judge others. So besides it being an enjoyable
book, it still was no help. And now here we are on July 3rd with
still no kind of answers.
I was
sitting on my window seal looking out the window while texting my friend Sasha.
My one and only friend I had who went off to college. We texted about a lot of
stuff from her days at the dorm, to me moving into this manor, but we mostly
texted about Alexander and how I somewhat had a little-okay, big-crush on him.
A knock came at the door and Alexander came in with a sandwich because it was
close to noon and once again my parents were gone off to work, which meant no
lunch from them. He sat the tray on my desk and told me what type of sandwich
it was “BLT with a side of potato chips.”
“Oh,
wow!” going over to my desk to observe the sandwich, which was big. “It looks
delicious, but I couldn’t possibly eat this all by myself. Want to eat half
with me?” I asked with a flirtatious smile.
“Sure.
I would love too.” he answered. I moved the tray over to my bed and we both sat
on it and began to chat with one another. I almost forgot I was texting Sasha,
so I quickly grabbed my phone from the window and texted her ‘I will text you
later, need to unpack more stuff.’ I saw Alexander looking at my phone.
“Sorry,
that was my friend Sasha, I was just texting her I would talk to her later.” I
explained. He nodded while biting into his sandwich. I ate a few potato chips
and one had fallen between my breasts. How embarrassing and with Alexander
right here, there was no way I could get it out now unless…
“Hey
look over there!” I screamed with worry. He turned around with quick speed,
while he was looking the other way I grabbed the chip and held it in my hand.
“What?”
he turned back towards me and saw the chip in my hand. He smirked while letting
out a little laugh. “You really had to do all that, just to grab that chip that
had fallen in your bra.” he stated. I blushed a little and punched him in the
arm.
“Oh,
shut up you pervert.”
“Pervert
how so?”
“Easy,
because that means you were staring at my chest the whole time if you saw the
chip fall in there.” I answered in a joking tone. He laughed with me while
flicking me in the head.
“Or
maybe it’s because you’re sitting right in front of me and I can literally see
everything you do.” he said sounding like a smart ass. I rolled my eyes while
biting into my sandwich. “But you know I do have to admit, now that you mention
it you do have some pretty gorgeous breast.” he said while licking his mouth.
Oh, I
also forgot to mention that while my parents have been gone most of the day it
meant me and him would be left alone and would sometimes act flirty with one
another. I began to blush at his compliment.
“Thank…thank
you” I stuttered. He moved closer to me and pushed a strand of hair out my
face. “You’re welcome.” Getting closer and closer until our lips were just an
inch away from each other. We both closed our eyes leaning in closer until…the
tray hit the floor ruining the moment. We both opened our eyes and he backed
away to pick up the tray. I looked down at the bed sheet a little sad the
moment was destroyed by metal. I felt his hand caress my cheek and the
sensation was mind-blowing that I didn’t want him to stop. I smiled as he
turned and left.
Dinner
had come once again and my mind was too busy thinking about Alexander. Even
though he was right at the table with us and I couldn’t easily stare at him, I
knew my parents would notice, so to my mind I went. Until I was interrupted by
my Mom.
“Are
you evening listening Crescent? I swear some days you are just like your Dad.”
she exclaimed.
“No, Mom
I wasn’t listening, so what did you say?”
“I
said…did you want to go to a Fourth of July party tomorrow night being held by
the agency we work for?” she repeated. “I thought it would be good for you to
get out the house once in awhile and meet some new people and I don’t know
maybe meet some cute boys too and then get married and then have some
grandbabies along the way.”
“Bella!”
Dad shouted. She giggled a little and winked at my father.
“Oh
relax, I was only joking Phil. But still, do you want to go or not?”
“Sure.
I mean I don’t have anything better to do.” I said shrugging.
“Perfect
and Alexander we want you there too.” she said. I choked a little on my drink
and my Dad pats my back. “I mean you’re still young and deserve to have a life
outside of this manor, so please come.”
“Not
only do we want you to have fun, but we also need someone to drive us home
because me and Bella plan to get very wasted too.” Dad added.
“Sure.
It would be an honor to come.” he answered with his accent.
“Good.”
they both said. I was lying in bed playing with my so-called powers-I guess-
doing little wind effects and a few fireball lights to help lighten up my room.
I was doing all this because I couldn’t sleep at all and I didn’t know why I
mean if I was having good dreams about Alexander then why couldn’t I just go to
sleep then? So, I decided to go get a glass of hot tea. This manor had hardly
any lights so I had to be very cautious when walking down the stairs. Then
while passing the door that led to Alexander room my body suddenly felt light.
I stopped in my tracks to notice that my feet weren’t touching the ground. The
shock came to me, even more, when I turned around to see my body lying
dead-like on the floor.
“Oh my
god! I’m dead?!” I screamed in horror. I stepped well floated over to my body
and noticed it was still breathing. “Oh, thank god.” I said with relief. I
needed some kind of help, so I decided to go downstairs to see if Alexander
could help me. Floating and literally going straight through doors, I reached
his room, which was peered open. I looked through the crack to see his room was
glowing with white light. I went through his door to get a closer look and the
light was coming from his second closet. I looked closer until what was glowing
finally came into a clear picture. It was a white pole with black and white
flowing ribbons and a huge silver crescent moon on top. It was the exact same
picture from the book I was reading.
“The
Crescent staff.” I whispered. But then another sight caught my attention and
that was Alexander. Even though his back was to mine, I could still see his
hair clearly and it was a long raging red with horns peering out. “No way!” I
said loudly causing him to turn around. But when he looked all he did was turn
back like he didn’t see a thing. With those little seconds, I was able to see
his tan like skin and red eyes with some hints of fangs too. My head began to
feel funny as I closed then re-opened my eyes to find I was back in the
hallway, but someone was shaking me. I looked up to find it was my Dad.
“Geez,
don’t scare me like that…thought you were unconscious for a minute. Now go
sleep in your bed like a normal person.” he commanded. I nodded giving him a
goodnight hug. Closing my door, I slid down the back of my door my brain still
trying to process all I saw tonight. But the only thing I really wanted to get
my hands on was that…
